In Week 3, three teams are home dogs with the Jacksonville Jaguars (0-2) trying to avoid an 0-3 record while battling the Tennessee Titans on Thursday Night Football. In addition, the Cleveland Browns (1-1) and Washington Redskins (0-2) are all small dogs at home including a Sunday Night Football match up between the LA Rams and Browns.

Last week, half of the schedule featured home dogs. Home dogs went 3-5 in Week 2 with the #LOLJets, Miami Dolphins, and Oakland Raiders getting blown out.

WEEK 3 – HOME DOG ALERT:
Jacksonville +1.5 (TNF)
Cleveland +3 (SNF)
Washington +4 (MNF)

In Week 3, the biggest home dog is only a 4-point favorite. There will also be a “Home Dog Alert” for all three nationally televised games on Thursday Night Football, Sunday Night Football and Monday Night Football.

Ramsey’s Jacksonville Nightmare

Tennessee Titans (1-1) at Jacksonville Jaguars (0-2) +1.5… The majority of action in this game has been on the total. Bookies in Vegas opened the over/under at 41, which was quickly bet down to 40 and eventually 39. Word initially got out that the Jacksonville are will experience heavy winds in addition to many bettors blindly betting the under in a Thursday Night game. Expect another ugly game with a Jags team that’s imploding before our very eyes.  But at least they have Gardner Minshew, right? The big question: will the Jaguars trade disgruntled cornerback Jalen Ramsey before kickoff?

SNF: Goff vs. Mayfield

LA Rams (2-0) at Cleveland Browns (1-1) +3… The reigning NFC champs visit the Dog Pound for Sunday Night Football battle between the Rams and the Browns. The Browns spent numerous years as the ubiquitous home dog, but they’re a dog once again with Sean McVay’s Rams in town. After a meh opening week, Baker Mayfield and company took advantage of the #LOLJets and a third-stringer making his NFL Debut in Week 2. Mayfield faces one of the biggest tests of his career against Aaron Donald and Wade Phillips’ stingy defense. WR Cooper Kupp is back to his old form after a blown ACL cut short the 2018 season. Kupp has yet to find the end zone, but he’s tallied 12 catches for 166 yards including 120 in Week 2 against the Saints. Jared Goff’s numbers are down compared to the last two seasons with just 2 touchdowns and 469 passing yards so far. Mayfield’s stats are not too impressive (610 yards, 2 TD) considering his first two opponents (Titans and Jets).

Mitchy Goes to Washington

Chicago Bears (1-1) at Washington Redskins (0-2) +4… Once upon a time, bettors jumped all over a Monday Night Football home dog. These days, we know better than to blindly bet home dogs in nationally televised games. If Da Bears’ new kicking sensation Eddy Pineiro didn’t drill a game winner in Mile High Stadium against the Broncos, the Bears would be 0-2 heading into this one. Da Bears still have a top-notch defense that allows 12 points per game, but Washington’s offense is better than expected. Case Keenum’s offense is churning out 24 points per game. Keenum threw 5 touchdowns in two games and he’s averaging 300 passing yards per game. Mitchy Trubisky and Da Bears’ offense sputtered just 19 points in two games. Da Bears are lucky that the Skins porous defense allowed 63 points in two games.
