Ronaldo arrived at Manchester United’s training ground in Carrington with his agent Jorge Mendes on Tuesday for critical talks about his future with the club. Ronaldo missed United’s summer tour of Thailand and Australia, and didn’t train in Manchester ahead of the team’s departure.

Ronaldo has been trying to find a way out of the club as Mendes has offered his client’s services to a host of European giants. Chelsea, Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain, and Barcelona all turned down the opportunity to land Ronaldo, mainly because of the financial implication such a move would require. Talks are allegedly still ongoing with Atletico Madrid for a shock return to La Liga.

United stands firm that Ronaldo isn’t for sale. The 37-year-old is part of Erik ten Hag’s plans for next season, despite not training at all this summer. In a bid to solve the “Cristiano situation,” United invited Sir Alex Ferguson to attend talks with the player today. The two are known to hold a close relationship after working together in Manchester between 2003 and 2009.

Bookies favor Ronaldo staying at Man. Utd.

Bookmakers believe Ronaldo won’t be moving until the transfer window closes in early September. He’s now at -200 to stay at Old Trafford, with Atletico making a transfer happen at +175. Atletico Madrid follows in the odds race, at +700, with Juventus and Chelsea regarded as outsiders to sign Ronaldo at +1000.

A Sporting Lisbon reunion is at +1200.

Two weeks ago, Ronaldo was rumored to have held talks with an unnamed Saudi club willing to pay him $250 million for a two-year deal. No official confirmation was issued by Ronaldo or his representatives.
