Every week, fans of the New York Jets think the team can’t get any worse. But they do. Just when you think the team can’t sink to a new low, they find a way to dig deeper. The LOL Jets were in prime form this week during a 24-0 shutout against the Miami Dolphins.

On the plus side, we’ve been betting against the Jets this season. Operation Fade the LOL Jets has yielded a 6-0 record because the Jets are an atrocious 0-6 against the spread this season.

The shutout loss capped off an embarrassing week for Gang Green. The Jets failed to find a trade partner for disgruntled running back Le’Veon Bell, so general manager Joe Douglas cut Bell outright. In less than 48 hours, the Kansas City Chiefs snatched up Bell, who went from the worst team in the NFL to the defending Super Bowl champion.

The few remaining Jets fans that tuned in this week saw another disastrous performance from the offense. The question on everyone’s mind, “Why hasn’t the Johnson family fired Adam Gase yet?”

As a so-called offensive genius, Gase’s offense generated only 75 points all season or 12.5 ppg, while the Swiss cheese defense allowed 185 points in six games, or nearly 30.1 points per game.

By the way, the last time the Jets were shutout? Last season when Darnold was seeing ghosts on Monday Night Football against the New England Patriots.

Less Than Zero

When the Houston Texans and Atlanta Falcons shed their bad coaches, both teams bounced back the next week with their first victory of the season to end a winless start.

The Falcons came into Week 6 as one of three winless teams in the NFL, including the New York Giants and the LOL Jets. Oddsmakers at CircaSports posted prop bets on whether or not any NFL teams would finish the season 0-16. The Jets were 7/1 odds to finish 0-16.

After Week 6, only one winless team remains: the LOL Jets. The Giants secured their first win with a big victory against the hapless Washington Football Team. The Falcons finally closed out a game and sealed their first win of the season under interim head coach Raheem Morris.

On the plus side, at least the Jets secured a “butt interception” as their lone highlight during the shutout.

Operation Fade the Jets Now 6-0

We will continue to fade the Jets and bet against them every week until they fire Gase. It’s that simple. Heck, you could spot the Jets an extra 10 points on top of the existing point spread every week, and they would still only be 2-4 ATS+10 on the season.

When a team under Gase loses, they lose badly. In 41 losses, 32 of them were decided by 10 or more points.

FADE THE LOL JETS
  • Week 6: Miami 24, NY Jets 0
  • Point Spread: MIA -9.5
  • Jets Record: 0-6 SU, 0-6 ATS
  • Fade the Jets Record: 6-0

The Jets are on pace to have the worst point differential since the NFL merger. It’s currently -110 (outgunned 185-75).

The 1976 Tampa Bay Bucs went 0-14 as an expansion team and they’re widely considered the worst team in NFL history. The Bucs were outscored by 287 points in 1976. If the Jets continue to let Gase coach them, they will automatically lock up the dubious honor of being the all-time worst team in history.

Next week, the Jets play the Buffalo Bills. The Jets opened +10, but the line has since moved to +11. The Jets will be a home dog at MetLife Stadium, yet we’re going to fade them anyway.
