We’ve got four games on the Friday-night college football slate: Duke-Virginia Tech, San Jose State-Air Force, Penn State-Maryland, and Arizona State-Cal. All should be entertaining, and provide intriguing DFS lineup options like Quentin Harris and Tre Walker. I’ll tend to fill most lineups with two quarterbacks using the super flex option, and fill in the spots around them.

Quarterbacks

Quentin Harris, Duke ($8,100 on DraftKings, $9,300 on FanDuel) – After a tough opener against Alabama, the Blue Devils have posted DFS point totals of 47.1 and 39.2 over the past two weeks on DK, thanks to eight touchdown passes and 582 yards passing. Harris is also a threat with his feet, running for 190 yards and scoring a rushing TD during that span. He’ll most likely light it up against a so-so Virginia Tech defense.

Sean Clifford, Penn State ($7,900 on DraftKings, $10,000 on FanDuel) – Although Clifford had a tough outing against a good Pitt defense last week, he posted totals of 32.3 and 24.9 on DK in the first two games. Oddsmakers expect Penn State to be the second-highest scoring team on the Friday night slate.

Running backs

Taven Birdow, Air Force ($4,500 on DK, $6,600 on FD) – Many DFS players will be on Birdow’s fellow backfield mate, Kadin Remsberg, but the latter only averages one more carry per game than the former (14 for Remsberg and 13 for Birdow). Because Birdow hasn’t found the end zone yet, he’s priced $1,600 cheaper than Remsberg. Birdow is due, and in a game in which Vegas expects Air Force to score about 37 points, I’ll roster him and enjoy the salary relief.

Keshawn King, Virginia Tech ($4,800 on DK, $7,500 on FD) – While the Hokies run a platoon-style running back corps, King seems to be the leader. He got 12 carries against Furman for 119 yards in his last game. Rushing for 100 yards and a TD against Duke is certainly feasible to provide 4x value on his salary on DK, and more than 2x on FD.

Wide receivers

Brandon Aiyuk, Arizona State ($6,200 on DK, $8,900 on FD) – Aiyuk is the Sun Devils’ top receiving threat, catching nine passes against Colorado last week and averaging 106 yards per game on the season. While Arizona State is expected to put up only about 20 points against the stout Cal D, Aiyuk is bound to earn decent DFS points just by reception and yards, even if he doesn’t find the end zone.

Tre Walker, San Jose State ($5,900 on DK, $9,200 on FD) – In his first action of the year after returning from injury, Walker caught 12 of 17 targets for 161 yards as the Spartans shocked Arkansas 31-24 in Fayetteville last week. Much like with Aiyuk, Walker may not find the end zone in game in which Air Force is a three-touchdown favorite, but he will accumulate enough receptions and yards to be worth his price. Note that Walker is the highest-priced WR on the slate on FD, but just sixth highest on DK, providing extra value there.
