Matt Turner will play for Arsenal next season, after the Premier League giants reached a deal with New England Revolution for his transfer.
The Gunners will pay an initial fee of almost $8 million, with another $3.3 million to be added in bonuses. The player also agreed on personal terms with Arsenal. The move was revealed by former USMNT forward Taylor Twellman on Twitter, then transfer guru Fabrizio Romano confirmed it.

Turner, 27, joined New England Revolution in 2016 from Jersey Express. He spent two years on loan at Richmond Kickers, then, in 2018, became an important part of the Revs first team. Turner played a total of 104 games for New England during the past four seasons. In 2021, he made his debut for the US national team and instantly established himself as the first choice option between the sticks. He has already gathered 13 caps for the USMNT.
DeAndre Yedlin heading back to the MLS
It’s a busy day inside the USMNT changing room, as they prepare for the World Cup qualifier against El Salvador. DeAndre Yedlin is also on the move. This time, we’re talking about a transfer back to the MLS. Yedlin accepted to play for David Beckham’s Inter Miami. Yedlin is currently a free agent after being released by Galatasaray.
The 28-year-old right-back spent seven years playing in Europe for the likes of Tottenham Hotspur, Sunderland, Newcastle United and Galatasaray. Before accepting Inter Miami’s offer, he was in talks with Hull City in the English second tier. Yedlin has 71 caps for the USMNT since making his debut in 2014. In the MLS, he only played for the Sounders between 2012 and 2014.

USMNT edging closer to the World Cup
The USMNT will play three games over the next seven days in the preliminary round of the World Cup in Qatar. The action kicks off against El Salvador on Thursday, before the trip to Canada on Sunday. Honduras then comes visiting on Wednesday to close the January international window.
USMNT is at -660 to beat El Salvador tonight, with a draw at +650 and an away win at +1900. Gregg Berhalter’s men are second in the qualification group with 15 points from eight games, one point behind Canada. The U.S.A. has only lost one game on the road to the World Cup in Qatar, 1-0 away to Panama in October. To achieve direct qualification, USMNT needs to finish inside the top three positions in the group. The fourth-place will compete in an intercontinental playoff.
