There are talks for a new deal with Liverpool that would pay Salah a staggering $700K per week, The Mirror reports.

If agreed, the new contract would make Salah the highest earner on the Liverpool squad, ahead of Virgil van Dijk and Thiago Alcantara. Salah was the star of the show as Liverpool beat Watford 5-0 on Saturday afternoon in the Premier League. He is now on 10 goals across all competitions since the start of the campaign, also contributing with four assists.

Salah, 29, is out of contract in 2023. The Egyptian is a longtime target for La Liga arch-rivals Real Madrid and FC Barcelona, and is also admired by Paris Saint-Germain. During an interview with the Spanish media earlier this year, Salah refused to rule out a transfer to Spain when asked how he saw his future.

“I think it’s clear that there is nobody better than him in world football at the moment,” Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp said about Salah following his performance against Watford. “The performance was massive, absolutely outstanding, the whole team’s performance was at the highest level. But Salah was absolutely exceptional,” Klopp stressed.

Roberto Firmino scored three goals for Liverpool against Watford, but Salah’s solo goal got everyone talking after the match.

Watford’s goalkeeper, Ben Foster, had a tough two hours at Vicarage Road on Saturday, but at least he didn’t leave the stadium empty-handed. Foster won 26 points in the Fantasy Premier League game thanks to Salah. Salah, who scored a goal and assisted another, finished the day on 13 points.

Foster captained Salah, so his tally doubled according to the fantasy game’s rules. Foster posts regular updates about his fantasy football activity on his YouTube account. At the beginning of the season, he explained why he spent 12.5 virtual million on Liverpool’s attacker.

“He takes penalties, scores goals for fun, assists for fun, he gets the man of the match all the time. It’s no surprise 50% of the teams have Salah. He’s at 12.5 million. Don’t care, get him in. Boom,” Foster laughed with his online friends.
