Cristiano Ronaldo is eager to start his new life at Old Trafford on a high. The 36-year old returned to Manchester United just before the transfer deadline, and hopes to be part of the starting 11 on Sunday when the Red Devils host Newcastle.
Talking to United’s official website, Ronaldo said he is “not here for a vacation,” stressing that he’s restarting his counter once his second stint at the club approaches.
“Before was good, winning important things and I wore the shirt before many years ago, but I am here to win again,” Ronaldo said. “I am capable, me and my teammates. I am ready to go. It is a good chance for me, for the supporters, for the club, to get one step ahead. I am ready and I think I will be a huge thing in the next three or four years,” the five-time Ballon d’Or winner concluded.
Ronaldo signed a two-year deal with Manchester United, once his transfer from Juventus was completed. There is an option for a third season, should Ronaldo want to keep playing. He’s currently fresh from setting the all-time international goal-scoring record after netting twice for Portugal in the 2-1 win over Ireland in the qualifiers for the Qatar World Cup.
Due to suspension, Ronaldo was allowed to leave the Portugal national team early, and he started training with United on Tuesday.

Supercomputer predicts Premier League hierarchy after Ronaldo transfer
Ronaldo’s return to Old Trafford after 12 years is making fans dream of Manchester United’s first Premier League title since 2013. A supercomputer predicts they will only finish third, though. That’s a spot below their performance from last season, and nowhere near the improvement supporters are hoping to see.
City is the favorite to win their second title in a row, with Chelsea behind. Liverpool is just a top-four contender, according to the supercomputer’s analysis published by The Sun. City is +120 to retain their title, according to the bookies, with Chelsea and Manchester United tied at +250 while Liverpool is at +550.
