The New England Patriots are 7/1 odds to win the Super Bowl according to William Hill on reports that the Patriots signed Tom Brady to a two-year contract extension.

Tom Brady received a two-year contract extension worth $70 million as the New England Patriots locked up their Hall of fame leader through the 2021 season.

The Patriots are projected to win 11 games this season. Apparently oddsmakers think they’re the best shot to win the Super Bowl at 7/1. The Kansas City Chiefs at 8/1 odds are the closest competitor.

Over in the NFC, the New Orleans Saints and LA Rams have similar odds to win Super Bowl LIV that have been fluctuating between 9/1 and 10/1.

AFC EAST SUPER BOWL ODDS
NE Patriots 7/1
NY Jets 66/1
Buffalo Bills 100/1
Miami Dolphins 150/1

The Patriots do not have much competition in the AFC East. Sam stuff, different year.. right? The only difference is that the Jets made several key coaching changes with the addition of Gregg Williams and Adam Gase. The Jets also upgraded their offense with the signing of Le’Veon Bell, plus luring Pro Bowl center Ryan Kalil out of retirement.

The Buffalo Bills are longshots at 100/1 to win the Super Bowl. The Miami Dolphins are last on the board at 150/1. It probably should be even lower.

Gone Gronk Gone

The Gronk is nevermore in New England. It will be tough to replace the one-of-a-kind tight end. However, if there’s anyone who can find a worthy replacement, it will be Belichick.

The offense lost several players to free agency including Chris Hogan, Cordarrelle Patterson, and Dwyane Allen.

In the meantime, the Pats added Benjamin Watson at a modest salary of $3 million. The Pats also picked up former Broncos WR Demaryius Thomas and Brandon Bolden at running back. During the 2019 NFL Draft, the Pats also selected Bama RB Damien Harris in the third round.

On defense, Belichick DE acquired Michael Bennett in a trade. They also signed DE Mike Pennel and OLB Jamie Collins.

Brady Raise

Tom Brady, 42, will now be among the highest paid QBs in the game. Brady earned only $8 million in 2019. He took a pay cut to help bring in other players that could lead the team back to the Super Bowl.

Brady is finally getting rewarded for his selflessness with a $15 million pay jump. This season, Brady will earn $23 million. That number still will not put him into the Top 10 even though he won five Super Bowl rings. Even his former backup, Jimmy Garoppolo will earn more money ($27.5 million) with the San Francisco Niners.

NFL QB SALARIES – TOP 5:
Russel Wilson $35 million
Ben Roethlisberger $34 million
Aaron Rodgers $33.5 million
Carson Wentz $32 million
Matt Ryan $30 million

As per terms of his new deal, he will earn $30 million next season and $32 million in 2021.

“Football is a tough business,” Brady told local beat reporters. “It is a production business and I am ready to go this year. That is really what matters and that is where my focus is. It’s a unique situation I am in with my 20th year with the same team.”
