On Saturday afternoon, Jalen Hurts will look to do it again, putting up big DFS numbers for the seventh week in a row. There should be fireworks all over the Big 12, as players from Baylor, Oklahoma State and more look to put up big DFS scores this week in college football. Keep an eye on Charlie Brewer as a secondary QB option.

Baylor quarterback Charlie Brewer has enjoyed a strong start to 2019 as the Bears have done undefeated. He’s worth a look in DFS this week. (Image: Baylor Bears)

Quarterbacks

Jalen Hurts, Oklahoma ($9,000 on DraftKings, $11,800 on FanDuel) – Yes, it’s hard not to go back to that well. Hurts scored 41.5 DFS points on DK last week and it was below his season average of 43.7. Frankly, I’m surprised his DK salary remained at $9,000 this week as he faces a West Virginia defense he should torch.

Charlie Brewer, Baylor ($7,900 on DK, $10,000 on FD) – Brewer has snuck up on us as a top fantasy option. He has passed for 1,154 yards, with 11 touchdowns and three picks, while running for 129 yards and five scores. He faces an Oklahoma State defense this Saturday that ranks 174th in NCAA against opposing QBs for DFS purposes.

Running backs

Breece Hall, Iowa State ($5,600 on DK, $6,000 on FD) – The hyped freshman finally got a chance to shine last week at West Virginia (yeah, those guys again) and carried the ball 26 times for 132 yards and three TDs. Texas Tech should be tougher, but still no match for the offensive line of the Cyclones. Hall is bound to provide great value for his relatively low salary, especially on FanDuel.

Larry Rountree, Missouri ($6,700 on DK, $8,600 on FD) – The Tigers’ featured back had another big day last week, carrying the ball 21 times for 126 yards and two TDs against Ole Miss. This week, he faces a Vanderbilt team that gives up over six yards per rush.

I’ll also be playing a fair amount of Oklahoma State’s Chuba Hubbard at running back, especially in lineups in which I don’t use a second QB in the super flex position. He’s the most expensive runner on the slate, but the Cowboys pound the ball with Hubbard as he averages over 30 carries per game when discounting the blowout victory over McNeese State. Oklahoma State’s opponent, Baylor, ranks 143rd against opposing RBs.

Wide receivers

CeeDee Lamb, Oklahoma ($7,800 on DK, $9,600 on FD) – Although he had already established himself as the Sooners’ No. 1 receiver, Lamb cemented the status with a 10-catch, 171-yard, three-TD day against Texas last week. He is averaging over 21 yards per catch and has a TD catch in each of his past eight games. He’ll continue to be the favorite target of Hurts.

RJ Sneed, Baylor ($4,100 on DK, $6,900 on FD) – As a value play, I’ll be taking some Sneed. The Bears receivers should have a field day against the Oklahoma State secondary and Sneed has been steady, catching at least two passes in every game and averaging four per contest.
