The Buffalo Bills usurped the evil empire and the New England Patriots as the top team in the AFC East, making the Bills the favorites at -160 odds to win the division for the second season in a row. The Patriots and Miami Dolphins are both +350 odds to win the AFC East.

The Patriots begin their second season without Tom Brady. While Brady won a Super Bowl with the Tampa Bay Bucs, Bill Belichick was scheming up ways to win with an old-and-banged-up Cam Newton and rookie quarterback Mac Jones. As a result, the Patriots are still chasing the Bills for supremacy in the AFC East.

2021 AFC East Odds
  • Buffalo Bills +160
  • New England Patriots +350
  • Miami Dolphins +350
  • New York Jets +1200

The New York Jets are in rebuilding mode and picking up the pieces after a disastrous stint under Adam Gase. Robert Saleh is the new head coach for Gang Green and they also have Zack Wilson, the #2 pick in the NFL Draft, at quarterback. The Jets are long shots to win the AFC East at +2500 odds, according to DraftKings.

Bills +160

The Bills are the team to beat, which means they have a huge target on their back instead of being the scrappy underdogs.

Josh Allen had a phenomenal season last year, but will the league finally catch up to him? Opposing defensive coordinators had a long winter trying to come up with a proper scheme to slow down Allen and the Bills. Will Allen be able to overcome any new defensive schemes? If yes, then the Bills will win the division with double-digit wins. If not, the Bills could go 9-8 and miss the postseason.

The Bills are +1000 odds to win Super Bowl 56. They’re the third-highest team on the NFL futures board behind the Kansas City Chiefs and defending champion Bucs.

Patriots and Dolphins +350

The Patriots won 11-straight division titles before Brady bolted to Tampa Bay last season and the Bills won their first AFC East crown since 1995.

How long will it take before Newton gets injured and Jones starts? Will Jones become the true heir apparent to Brady? Or will Belichick figure out a way to win enough games to secure a wild-card berth, and then let his genius do the rest of the work in the postseason?

The Patriots are still rebuilding after Brady left, but they’re in much better shape than they were last season when numerous defensive starters missed the season.

The Dolphins offer up value at +350 odds to win the AFC, only because no one is really paying attention to them. Of course, a Dolphins run is predicated on an off-year from the Bills and a struggling Pats squad. But if Tua Tagliovoa remains healthy, we’ll finally get to see if he can become a premier quarterback, or if he’s some kid who was awesome in college but just backup material in the pros.

Jets +1200

Saleh is tasked with turning the Jets around — and turning the LOL Jets into a Super Bowl contender. As a demoralized Jets fan, any future without Gase is several steps in the right direction. It’s still a long road to an actual Super Bowl berth, but at least the Jets have a competent coach again. But save your money. With a rookie quarterback, there’s still plenty of opportunity for the LOL Jets to do foolish things. Fans are eager to find out if Wilson is the real deal, or if he’s another over-hyped draft bust for the LOL Jets.
