Week 13 NFL DFS Value Plays: Lazard, Higgins and Mims Could Boom at WR

We get a 12-game DFS slate for Week 13 of the NFL season, with players like Russell Wilson, Dalvin Cook, and Devante Adams topping the salary lists.

If you want a piece of those guys, you’ll need to save some money by drafting players like these guys.

Salvon Ahmed, Dolphins RB ($5,000)

The pool of value-priced running backs worth rostering this week is mighty slim, and even Ahmed bears watching as the week progresses. He’s expected to return from a shoulder injury on Sunday, but he’s only worth playing if Myles Gaskin remains on injured reserve. We will know more closer to Sunday, so stay tuned.

Allen Lazard, Packers WR ($5,000)

Lazard missed weeks 4-10 with a core injury, and was briefly injured again last week against the Bears before finishing the game with four catches for 23 yards and a touchdown. He should settle in as quarterback Aaron Rodgers’ second-favorite target in future weeks, including the Week 13 tilt against the Eagles.

Tee Higgins, Bengals WR ($4,600)

Higgins didn’t miss a beat after the season-ending injury to Joe Burrow, catching all five targets for 44 yards and a TD against the Giants last week. Higgins has been a consistent performer in 2020, scoring double digits on DraftKings in all but two games this season. The Dolphins’ D could prove a tough test this week, but you don’t need a monster game from Higgins to pay back his cheap salary.

Denzel Mims, Jets WR ($4,100)

The rookie is starting to get more looks as the 2020 season progresses, catching four of eight targets for 67 yards against Miami last week. He’s received 23 targets in his past three games, and gained at least 60 yards in each of those contests. A complete lack of touchdowns has kept Mims’ salary down, but that should soon change, making him potentially great value at this price in Week 13.

TJ Hockenson, Lions TE ($5,000)

Hockenson continues to see his usage increase, with an average of more than seven targets per game over his past five contests. Hockenson led the Lions in receiving yards against the Texans, catching five passes for 89 yards. Detroit will face the Bears in Week 13, and Chicago ranks next to last in the NFL in defending the tight end in DFS.
