Week 7 of NFL DFS: Look to JD McKissic, Dante Pettis for Value

Week 7 of the NFL season brings us 10 games on the DraftKings DFS main slate. Huge scorers like Kyler Murray, Derrick Henry, and Davante Adams are among the player pool, so if we want to roster those studs, we’ve got to dig deeper into the list to find some cheaper guys and save that salary.

Here are five under $5,000 to debate for roster spots this week.

JD McKissic, Washington RB ($5,000)

McKissic doesn’t get many carries (just eight last week, which was a season-high), but he enjoys plenty of catches (eight receptions on 10 targets last week). That can be a big boon with the point-per-reception format on DraftKings. With primary running back Antonio Gibson battling both calf and shin injuries, McKissic could get more work in Week 7 against the Packers.

Michael Carter, Jets RB ($4,800)

Carter is the starting running back on a bad team, which usually doesn’t bode well for big fantasy production. But he does just enough that he’s worth consideration for a roster spot, especially in 50/50 contests, where 3x production in terms of points per dollar is usually sufficient for making the money. Carter hit triple digits in fantasy points on DK in three of the past four weeks. Week 7’s opponent, the Patriots, offer a middling rush defense.

Amon-Ra St. Brown, Lions WR ($4,100)

The rookie is becoming a favored target of quarterback Jared Goff, with 18 receptions on 23 targets over the past three weeks. With Quintez Cephus and Tyrell Williams both on injured reserve, St. Brown should continue to see plenty of balls thrown his way in the Week 7 matchup against the Rams.

Dante Pettis, Giants WR ($3,000)

Pettis continues to be min-priced on DK, despite catching five passes on 11 targets for 48 yards in his season debut last week against the Rams. He was elevated to the active roster due to the plethora of injuries to the Giants’ receiving corps. Those players continue to nurse knees, ankles, and hamstrings, which should lead to nice fantasy value for Pettis again in Week 7.

Ricky Seals-Jones, Washington TE ($3,700)

With Logan Thomas out with an injured hamstring, Seals-Jones has put up an 11-118-1 stat line on 19 targets. But he’s still cheap on DK, despite averaging nearly 10 fantasy points per game on the platform during the past three weeks. Seals-Jones has been suffering a quad injury and is listed as questionable, so monitor his status before kickoff Sunday.
