Week 13 NFL DFS: Kenneth Gainwell, Tyler Boyd as Value Plays

The NFL regular season is now two-thirds over. As we enter the stretch drive in Week 13, it’s tough to find great value lower in the salary pool on DraftKings this Sunday. But there are a handful of plays under $5,000 that will allow us to roster some of the blue chips this week.

Here are five under $5,000 this week:

Kenneth Gainwell, Eagles RB ($4,200)

The rookie from Memphis has benefited from the various ailments afflicting the Eagles’ running backs. He could be in line for more work in Week 13 if Miles Sanders and Jordan Howard continue to be out or limited. Boston Scott would likely continue to get the brunt of the rushing work, but Gainwell could again serve as the third-down, pass-catching back.

Tyler Boyd, Bengals WR ($5,000)

Boyd became a forgotten man last week as Cincinnati cruised to victory against Pittsburgh, thanks largely to its running game. The game in Week 13 against the Chargers should be closer, putting more pressure on quarterback Joe Burrow and the passing game to lead the team to victory.

AJ Green, Cardinals WR ($4,900)

Although Green has put up solid numbers all season, his totals should be helped again in Week 13 if DeAndre Hopkins (who remains questionable) misses another game. Green has averaged nearly 11 fantasy points per game on DraftKings, but his total of three touchdowns all season has helped keep his salary low.

Rashod Bateman, Ravens WR ($4,900)

The rookie’s numbers have slowed since his hot start when he debuted in Week 6 following a groin injury. But, part of the poor stats is due to quarterback Lamar Jackson’s ineffectiveness since returning from his own injury. If Jackson can get things going this week against the Steelers’ 25th-ranked defense against opposing wideouts in DFS, then Bateman should put up nice numbers.

Dallas Goedert, Eagles TE ($4,500)

After his mediocre performance last week (one reception for no yards), Goedert may not be on the radar of many DFS players. But the Giants’ game plan seemed to center on shutting down Goedert and DeVonta Smith. This tight end is likely to feast in Week 13 against the weak New York Jets defense.
