Sunday’s Week 13 slate features 11 games with plenty of potential for firepower from big-time DFS point earners like Patrick Mahomes and Christian McCaffrey. To squeeze in these high-priced guys, we need some cheap DFS plays this week. Luckily, I’ve found my usual five for $5,000 or less. Consider these players for your roster.

Andy Dalton
Andy Dalton is back at starting quarterback for the Cincinnati Bengals after sitting for three games. While he is unlikely to put up spectacular numbers, he could provide nice salary relief in DFS in Week 13. (Image: AP)

Andy Dalton, Bengals QB, $4,700

Cincinnati tried a different tactic by inserting rookie Ryan Finley in as starting quarterback for three games, but alas, the Bengals still have a goose egg in the win column. Dalton will return under center this Sunday at home against the Jets. While I don’t expect him to put up Mahomes-like numbers, he will face a mediocre New York defense, and you can’t beat the price for a starting QB.

Phillip Lindsay, Broncos RB, $5,000

Lindsay’s price dipped for Week 13, making him one of the best cheap DFS plays this week. He put up mediocre numbers last week against the Bills, largely because QB Brandon Allen couldn’t cut through the stiff winds or fade Buffalo’s fairly stiff pass defense. This week is a better matchup all-around, as the Chargers defense is one of the worst in the NFL against opposing running backs in DFS, and Lindsay is likely to catch more passes whether Allen starts again, or Drew Lock gets his shot at quarterback.

Sterling Shepard, Giants WR, $4,900

Shepard missed much of the early part of the season after suffering a concussion, but looked strong in Week 12 against the Bears, catching five of nine targets to lead the team in downfield looks. Shepard has at least five receptions in each of the five games he has played in 2019, and the questionable status of Golden Tate could yield even more action for Shepard in Week 13.

Dede Westbrook, Jaguars WR, $5,000

Nick Foles connected with Westbrook early and often in his return last week, with the receiver catching eight of nine targets for 69 yards. Because the two didn’t connect for any deep passes and, consequently, no touchdowns, Westbrook’s price is still relatively low. Because the Titans rank last in the league against opposing WRs in DFS, Westbrook is one of the best DFS cheap plays this week.

Greg Olsen, Panthers TE, $4,400

I’m going back to the well with Olsen, who caught five passes for 44 yards against the Saints last week. That makes 18 receptions in his last six games for 199 yards. He is still priced low due to his lack of touchdowns, but that could easily change against the Redskins this week.
