Target Nebraska-Colorado in Week 2 of College Football DFS

Week 2 of college football will get into full swing Saturday, with a nice slate of high-scoring games expected. I’ve got a mix of low- and high-priced players at each position that I’ll slot into my DFS lineups this weekend, with a focus on the Nebraska-Colorado game. Here are the picks:

Quarterbacks

Adrian Martinez, Nebraska ($7,000 on DraftKings, $9,000 on FanDuel) – It’s time for the Week 2 overreaction, and Exhibit A in college football may be Martinez. The Cornhuskers QB was just 13 of 22 for 178 yards and no touchdowns last week against South Alabama. With the Nebraska-Colorado rivalry game this weekend, expect Martinez to return to his 2018 form while anticipating he will be low-owned while doing so.

Tobias Oliver, Georgia Tech ($4,300 on DK, Game not on FD) – Here’s an under-the-radar player for you. Georgia Tech is expected to put up about 34 points on Saturday and they are led by Oliver, who, while mediocre as a passer, had 20 rushes last week against Clemson. He should find the sledding much smoother this weekend against South Florida, which was mauled by Wisconsin in Week 1.

Running backs

Travis Etienne, Clemson ($9,400 on DK, $10,200 on FD) – DFS players who passed on Etienne last week got smoked in the standings after the Tiger’s stud RB scored 41.8 points on DK. Don’t make the same mistake this week. Texas A&M may be a tougher opponent, but the Aggies are 56th against running backs in the FBS. The line is Clemson -17, and the Tigers are expected to score about 41 points. Etienne could be on the field the entire game, and is set for another monster week.

Alex Fontenot, Colorado ($6,300 on DK, $9,500 on FD) – Fontenot, the Buffaloes lead back, had a big day last week against Colorado State, with 125 yards and three TDs. Based on that performance, he could see a lot of work again this week in what’s expected to be a high-scoring game with the Cornhuskers.

Wide receivers

JD Spielman, Nebraska ($4,700 on DK, $8,500 on FD) – Spielman is in another “overreaction” spot, as he caught just two passes for 36 yards last week in Nebraska’s sputtering offense. He should be Martinez’s favorite target Saturday, however, in a game where oddsmakers expect to see four or five Cornhuskers touchdowns.

Rondale Moore, Purdue ($8,100 on DK, $10,000 on FD) – The Boilermakers sophomore receiver is the highest-priced at his position on the slate, and he’s still underpriced. An incredible amount of the Purdue offense filters through Moore, who caught 11 of 14 targets in Week 1 for 124 yards and a TD. Moore caught 114 passes as a freshman, and signs are positive that his incredible reception-per-game will continue.
