The NFL Draft, which begins Thursday and lasts for three days, has become popular with gamblers who want to bet on something football related. The SuperBowl was three months ago, and preseason doesn’t start for another four months, so fans are craving for something.

This is the second consecutive year Nevada sportsbooks have been able to offer wagers associated with the draft. In 2017 they had 17 prop bets, but this year it was expanded to 32.

Internet Sportsbooks Offer More

The offshore internet sites have been providing action on the draft for years and in an effort to provide something Nevada facilities can’t, offer unique prop bets not approved by the Nevada Gaming Control Board.

Where as the Nevada sportsbooks have prop bets on who will be the first player picked, internet sites have will that player hug his mom first. Yes is -300, while no is +400.

Also available is will that same No. 1 pick cry before coming up on stage and greeting NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell. The yes is +200, while the no is -300. Considering Cleveland has the first selection, it might not be a bad wager.

Goodell is mentioned in another bet. There will be 32 players selected in the first round and the commissioner will announce every single one of them. Will a player make a stand and refuse to hug or shake his hand? The yes is +600, while the no is -1000. It is highly doubtful. These guys are fresh out of college and about to make more money then they dreamed of. It’s surprising none of them have tried to bear hug Goodell and lift him off is feet in celebration.

Betting on Introduction Music

Apparently soundtracks accompanying players as their name is announced and they walk up to the stage is a huge trend now. Kendrick Lamar is the favorite to be piped in to the crowd at -300. They don’t have bets on specific songs from the rapper, but it’s a good guess that Money Trees would be played before B—-, Don’t Kill my Vibe.

Future is next at -250, followed by Lil Wayne and Drake at -200. Kodak Blake and Cardi B are last at -115. Not surprisingly, Celine Dion or Hanson were not mentioned as possible artists to introduce a player.

One of the other prop bets is how long the first round will last. The over/under has been set at four hours. ESPN and Fox have it slated to be televised for 3.5 hours. That doesn’t mean that the first round will be over by then. It could very well go past that time slot.

The last exotic prop bet is regarding New York Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. He has been the subject of trade rumors and he is the only player that has a wager on whether he will be traded on the days of the draft. The yes is +350, however, while the no is -600.

Of course that doesn’t mean broadcasters won’t talk about the possibility, and there is a bet for that. The over/under is set at 2.5 mentions during the first round, with both having lines of -115.
