Erling Haaland scored twice, as Borussia Dortmund came out 4-2 winners over Union Berlin at the weekend. The 21-year-old Norwegian striker has now scored seven goals since the start of the campaign. The biggest teams in Europe are queuing once more to impress him.

Barcelona and Real Madrid both are keen to sign him, but their financial realities stop any official talks with Dortmund. Haaland is also a target for Premier League’s biggest spenders, Manchester City, Manchester United, Chelsea, and Liverpool, as well as German giants Bayern, where he is regarded as the perfect fit for the post-Lewandowski era.

Haaland was Chelsea’s main target last summer, with the Champions League winners withdrawing their interest as they found out Dortmund would only say yes in case a $210 million offer came. Instead, Chelsea signed Romelu Lukaku from Inter for a club-record transfer fee of $135 million.

Against Union Berlin, Erling Haaland added another brace to his tally. His second goal came in the 83rd minute and was special. Fans and pundits couldn’t stop from comparing Haaland’s beautiful volley from the edge of the box with Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s antics.

In his first 67 games at Dortmund, Haaland netted an out-of-this-world 68 times. Since the start of the season, the striker scored 16 goals in just 11 outings. 11 goals came in his eight official games at Dortmund, while the other five were scored in the three games he played for Norway in the Qualifiers for the 2022 World Cup.

Along with Real Madrid’s Karim Benzema, Erling Haaland is the only player to have been involved in at least 10 league goals this season. Apart from his seven goals, Haaland also contributed with 3 assists since the beginning of the campaign. Benzema scored six goals and helped with five assists.

In the Bundesliga alone, Haaland played 3,920 minutes. He contested 48 games, scoring 47 goals and assisting a further 12. In his first 17 UEFA Champions League matches for Dortmund and RB Salzburg, Halland totals 21 goals. His career in overall numbers by the age of 21: 179 games and 130 goals scored.

The bookies have Man. City as favorites to snap him from Borussia Dortmund in 2022. The Premier League champions are now at +175 to sign him. Real Madrid are second, at +250, with PSG at +300. Man. United follow at +350, while Bayern Munich stand at +450. Financial-troubled Barcelona are behind, at +700.
