The Tour Championship provides two betting options for gamblers this week in the PGA Tour’s season-ending event. The FedEx Cup Playoffs uses a points system throughout the year, and the leader is awarded a large advantage going into the Tour Championship.

Dustin Johnson comes into the tournament, which begins Friday at Atlanta’s East Lake Golf Club, as the No. 1 seeded golfer. As a result, Johnson starts the tournament at 10-under par. Jon Rahm, who won last week’s BMW Championship, starts at eight strokes under par. The other golfers are starting anywhere from seven to zero strokes under par.

Rory McIlroy won the Tour Championship last year with a final score of 18-under par. He began the tournament at five strokes under. Xander Schauffele began four strokes under and finished second at 14 under.

Johnson is the 2/1 favorite to win while Rahm is next at 3/1. Here are some players we think may have a chance to up-end those two and pull off the upset, and others who have little chance to win.

Golfers to Consider

Justin Thomas (5/1)

Thomas is No. 3 in points behind Johnson and Rahm, and is a solid pick to win the Tour Championship at 5/1. Thomas was the top seed last year, but finished third. He’s won three times this year.

Webb Simpson (10/1)

Simpson took last week off to rest, and it may pay off this week. He told reporters he believed it was the right move.

“I felt like within my right of playing or not playing, I wanted to be most ready for this week,” Simpson said. “I hated taking it off. BMW is an awesome sponsor. I wanted to play in a tournament with only 70 guys and no cut, but I felt like it was best for me to stay home and get ready for this week.”

Golfers to Avoid

Xander Schauffele (25/1)

Schauffele’s record at the Tour Championship is solid, but starting as far back as he is might be too much too overcome. If anyone can do it, however, it would be him. Schauffele won here in 2017 and has never shot over par in 12 rounds at East Lake.

Tony Finau (55/1)

Finau is another golfer who has a huge hole to dig himself out of if he wants to win the tournament. He’s only getting two strokes to start, and will have to have at least two rounds in the low 60s to get to the top. It’s not impossible, but also not probable.
