“Joker” tallied 11 total 2020 Oscars nominations in Hollywood on Monday morning, including Best Picture, Best Directing, and Best Actor. Joaquin Phoenix won the Golden Globe for his disturbing portrayal of the Joker, and he’s the inside favorite to win the Academy Award for Best Actor at the 2020 Oscars.

Best Actor and Actress: Scarlett, Charlize, Renee, Leo, Joaquin, Antonio

The main characters bogged down in a nasty divorce from Noah Baumbach’s “Marriage Story,” played by Scarlett Johansson and Adam Driver, both earned nominations in their respective Oscars categories.

At the Golden Globes last weekend, Renee Zellwegger (Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture, Drama) and Joaquin Phoenix (Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture, Drama) walked away with the big awards.

Laura Dern dazzled audiences with her performance as a vicious divorce attorney in “Marriage Story.” Johansson received nominations in two acting categories, including a nod for Best Supporting Actress for her role as the mother in “Jojo Rabbit.”

However, they’re five giants of cinema including Tom Hanks, Anthony Hopkins, Al Pacino, Joe Pesci, and Brad Pitt. Pitt seems like the popular pick among fans and bettors. Pitt, playing a stunt man in “Once Upon a Time … in Hollywood”, earned a Golden Globe for Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role in Any Motion Picture.

The Rest of the 2020 Oscars Nominees

While most of the world focuses on the big-name directors and huge stars, there’s an entire industry of unknown people who work in Hollywood in all sorts of capacities. Those unsung heroes, like editors, screenwriters, and costume designers, get to share the stage with Hollywood’s elite once a year during the Oscars.

In the writing categories, nominees for best original screen play included “Knives Out,” “Marriage Story,” “1917,” “Once Upon a Time … in Hollywood,” and “Parasite.” Tarantino won a Golden Globe for penning “Once Upon a Time … in Hollywood.” For adapted screenplay, 2020 nominees included “The Irishman,” “Jojo Rabbit,” “Joker,” “Little Women,” and “The Two Popes.”
