Despite numerous injuries (calf, ankle, small bone) preventing franchise quarterback Andrew Luck from participating in training camp, the Indy Colts are 14/1 Super Bowl Odds according to William Hill.

Colts nation breathed a collective sigh of relief when Luck made a token appearance on the field during warmups of a Colts/Browns preseason game. Luck connected on several passes and did not show signs of any serious injuries.

The Colts will continue to hold Luck out of practice and preseason games while he fully recovers in time for the regular season.

Last season, Luck played all 16 games and led the Colts to a Wild card berth. In 2018, Luck threw 39 touchdowns, which marked second-highest of his six-season career. In 2014, he threw a career-high 40 touchdown strikes. Luck also finished the season with his best-ever completion rate at 67.3 percent.

In the meantime, back Jacoby Brissett looked solid during a preseason game against the Cleveland Browns. Brissett started and went 8-for-10 with 100 passing yards. He also tossed a touchdown to tight end Eric Ebron.

Colts Resurgence or Regression?

Last January, the Colts were knocked out of the Divisional round by the Kansas City Chiefs. Frank Reich turned around a 4-12 team into a playoff squad. But can he elevate the Colts to a legit Super Bowl contender?

The Indy Colts are 14/1 odds to win the Super Bowl this year. With the New England Patriots expected to lose a step this year, the Kansas City Chiefs are one of the favorites to win the AFC title this season. The Colts are in the second tier of potential contenders with the LA Chargers and Cleveland Browns.

Indy’s biggest offseason addition includes WR Devin Funchess and DE Justin Houston. Funchess becomes a viable option along with Luck’s favorite target TY Hilton.

AFC SOUTH SUPER BOWL ODDS
Indianapolis Colts 14/1
Houston Texans 33/1
Jacksonville Jaguars 40/1
Tennessee Titans 50/1

The addition of Nick Foles is a huge deal for the Jacksonville Jaguars after they finally punted on Blake Bortles. However, this squad is a shell of itself compared to the team that went all the way to the AFC title game two season earlier. We will see if Foles can replicate his Philly magic for the Jags.

The Titans lost Matt LaFleur, who headed to Green Bay to become Aaron Rodgers’ new offensive coordinator. Somehow, the Titans also find a way to compete with limited resources.

The Houston Texans are 33/1 odds to win the Super Bowl and the biggest challenge for the Colts in the AFC South. The Texans are dangerous because of DeShaun Watson. If their young QB stays healthy, then the Texans can surprise a couple of teams. The Texans lost to the Colts in the AFC Wild Card last postseason.
