The aftermath of Conor McGregor’s tirade in New York City last week has left the UFC fighter’s future in doubt, but internet sportsbooks are speculating what is next. BetDSI and Bodog are two sites that have put prop bets concerning the consequences of the Irish fighter’s conduct.

The 29 year old was charged with three counts of misdemeanor assault and one count of felony criminal mischief stemming from an incident at a UFC press conference. McGregor allegedly stormed the affair with an entourage and tried to confront fellow fighter Khabib Nurmagomedov.

The Russian was in a shuttle bus trying to leave the Barclays Center in Brooklyn when McGregor was videotaped throwing a dolly through the window of the vehicle. Both Michael Chiesa and Ray Borg were forced out of their respective fights because of injuries sustained in the attack. Chiesa had facial lacerations, while the UFC said Borg suffered multiple corneal abrasions.

Repercussions Coming

The Brooklyn district attorney intends to pursue the charges against McGregor, though what type of punishment and fine he will face has not yet been determined. He is set to be back in court in June. BetDSI believes he won’t serve any time. They have one prop bet that states; “Will Conor McGregor serve a jail sentence in New York State?” The yes is +700, while the no is -1800. They also have an over/under line for jail time at 90 days. The over is +140 and the under is -180.

Bodog went a step further and poised the question of whether he will do prison – not jail – time for his crimes. The no is -1600 and the yes is +700.

Any incarceration seems remote, but fines could definitely be levied, as could community service. BetDSI has a list of potential cash McGregor will have to dole out, including fines and payouts to victims. One security guard was injured in the melee. Under $50,000 is at +1500, and as the amount increases the odds go down. The favorite is $701,000-$1.5 million at +250. More than $3 million is +600.

UFC Discipline Awaits

UFC President Dana White was disgusted by the attack and called it “the most disgusting thing that has ever happened,” in the sport. He seemed to backpedal later saying he had spoken to McGregor.

“We talked, it’s good,” White told reporters at the UFC 223 post-fight press conference. “I think that there’s a mutual respect between us and obviously this week, I had so many things thrown at me. To focus on this show was insane. We’ll get back and we’ll focus on Conor McGregor.”

What does he do with his biggest attraction? Oddsmakers believe he will hand out some kind of suspension. The yes is -135, while the no is -105. They don’t think he’ll be banned for life, however. Those odds are -2500 for no to expulsion and +1200 for yes.

McGregor has already lost his lightweight belt because he hasn’t defended it since October 2016. Who he fights next is also a wagering possibility. It has been rumored that he would be fighting Floyd Mayweather in the Octagon, but the more likely opponent would be Nurmagomedov. Those odds are -160 for yes to those two meeting at a UFC event in 2019, and the no at +120.
