Some of your favorite teams take to the ice leading up to the weekend, and BetUS is offering odds.

Bet on the NHL at BetUS

There will be three games to kick off a weekend full of NHL action.  Here's a quick look at what you can expect.

Montreal v New Jersey
New Jersey will certainly be looking for yet another win, as they have beaten Montreal two previous times this season.  Both games have been 2-1 victories for the Devils who managed to snap a three game losing streak by defeating the Panthers on Wednesday night.  On the other side of the ice, the Canadiens will be hoping to snap a three game losing streak of their own as they have lost four out of their last five.

Though the Devils managed to pick up a win on Wednesday, they’re lacking when it comes to scoring, particularly on the power play.  They’ve scored 2 goals or less in 23 of their 48 games played, which has contributed to their disappointing 3-4-0 record over the last seven games.  That being said, they are well covered in the net with Martin Brodeur back to top form after allowing four goals in the first 40 minutes in their game against the Islanders on January 18.

Montreal is also suffering from a lack of scoring opportunities, though they do have Benoit Pouliot working for them.  He’s scored eight goals in the last 13 games, which, when you consider he only had two goals in 14 games when he was with Minnesota, is quite impressive.  But despite Pouliot’s best efforts, the Canadiens just haven’t had enough to get the wins. If they can facilitate more scoring opportunities, they’ll stand more of a chance, though the Devils are 17-7-0 on the home ice, so expect them to put on another impressive performance.
BetUS is offering the following odds:
Puck Line
Canadiens: +1 ½ -200
Devils: -1 ½ +165
Moneyline
Canadiens: +160
Devils: -190

Nashville v Colorado
This will be the third meeting between these two teams.  The two previous games resulted in wins for the Predators (one in over time) who are currently trying to make up some ground in the playoff standings.  They’re number two in the Central Division, but as far as the Western Conference goes, the Avs are three spots ahead.

The Avalanche are coming into this one on some very good momentum after winning four in a row, including a massive 6-0 win over the Oilers on Monday.  Craig Anderson has been amazing in the net, stopping 24 shots in their trampling of Edmonton.  Combine that with the collective efforts of such offensive talent as Kyle Cumiskey and Matt Duchene, and the Avs are cleaning up.  Though this game against the Predators could be more of a challenge as they are missing veteran Mila Hedjuk (who could be out up to a month due to knee surgery).

Nashville has hit a bit of a dry spell, losing two in a row to Toronto and Phoenix.  A win in this game would go a long way for player morale, not to mention their position in the playoff standings.  If they want to beat the Avs, they’ll need to beef up the offense.  With six players scoring in the double digits, they certainly have the potential.  It should be a pretty close game between the two, but expect Colorado to do well on the home ice.
BetUS is offering the following odds:
Puck Line
Predators: +1 ½ -260
Avalanche: -1 ½ -220
Moneyline
Predators: +115
Avalanche: -135

Dallas v Edmonton
This will be the third meeting between these two teams this season. Edmonton won the previous two, both in shootouts.  This game should be pretty interesting in that Edmonton has lost their last 17 games, but Dallas is one of the worst teams on the road.

The Oilers have been suffering to say the least. Though it should be mentioned that they did put up a good fight against the Canucks on Wednesday night, eventually losing 2-3 in over time.  Despite the loss, the Oilers did look much stronger than they have in a long time.  Coach Pat Quinn put them through the hard yards after their massive 0-6 loss against Colorado on Monday night.  Perhaps the major practice session has paid off.  Hopefully, this game will see them improve even more and possibly pick up their first win in 2010.

It’s entirely possible because, as mentioned, the Stars are one of the weakest teams on the road.  They’ve posed a 0-8-2 in their last ten road games.  Plus, they had a big loss to Vancouver on Thursday to further shake their confidence.  One positive aspect of the Dallas game Loui Eriksson who has consistently scored goals in recent games, though his efforts alone won’t be enough to pick up a win.  Could this result in a win to snap the Oilers’ losing streak?
BetUS is offering the following odds:
Moneyline
Stars: -120
Oilers: Ev
