With so much great football action this week, let’s take a look at two of the best matches on offer.

Fenerbahce: -160
Draw: +250
Sheriff: +425

Fenerbahce vs. Sheriff: The Turkish giants have cruised through the group stage of the Europa League, taking four wins from five matches. Having already qualified for the second round, we can expect to see a second-string lineup starting the match on Thursday. Whatever the result, it will not affect Fenerbahce’s position at the top of Group H.

Sheriff are in an unusual position. They know they that require a win to stand any chance of continuing in the tournament, yet they are facing the toughest club in their group. Still, knowing that Fenerbahce will be playing mostly reserves tomorrow night will give the Moldovans some confidence going into the match. If they do end up producing an unlikely win, they must hold onto hope that FC Twente are dealt a defeat in their corresponding fixture.

Genoa: +150
Draw: +225
Valencia: +160

Genoa vs. Valencia: Sitting in third position isn’t as bad as it seems for Genoa on match day six. While only a win can guarantee their place in the knockout stage of the League, even a draw could see them progress if the other Group B match plays out in their favor. The Italian outfit has been handed arguably the toughest group of the tournament, but they know that there is still a lot of hard work to be put in if they are going to avoid early elimination.

Valencia have been flying high in La Liga this season, however they have failed to secure their position in the next stage of the Europa League. A loss could see them topple from first to third, thereby eliminating them from the competition altogether. Holding out for a draw will be enough, but it’s a dangerous game to play against their fierce Italian opponents. Don’t forget to check out BetUS for all the latest odds on Thursday night’s matches. Right now, let’s recap a couple of the best games from Wednesday.

FC Basel (2) vs. Fulham (3): In an incredible match that went down to the wire, Fulham pulled a rabbit out of their hat in the form of Bobby Zamora to give them a place in the final 32 of the competition.

The first half started off well, but without the sort of opportunities we are used to these teams producing in their domestic leagues. It took 42 minutes for the first goal to come, but when it did it opened up the floodgates. Zamora took advantage of two opportunities within three minutes and gave his side some breathing room at the break.

Basel returned to the pitch eager to reduce the deficit, and they did so through an Alexander Frei penalty, awarded after a handball incident. Not to be outdone, Fulham returned their lead to two goals through Zoltan Gera, and even a late Marco Streller header couldn’t give Basel the point they required for progression.

Athletic Club (0) vs. Werder Bremen (3): In a match billed as a dead rubber, it played out as anything but. With both sides boasting squads filled with youngsters, the Germans smashed their Spanish opponents away from home.

While the second half was nothing to write home about, the first produced a string of fine attempts and goals. Claudio Pizarro started things off in the 13th minute with a belting header, and was followed up closely by Naldo seven minutes later.

The match was already over and done with by the half hour mark, but not before Markus Rosenberg added his name to the scoresheet; he found himself in space and whipped the ball past the keeper at his near post.
