Boom time in Beantown
November 13, 2007
What is going on in Boston these days? The Red Sox just won another baseball World Series and both the Celtics and Patriots are undefeated so far in their respective seasons.
Can they keep it up? Is there still money to be made on the Boston winning streaks?
With the addition of Kevin Garnett, the Celtics are out to their best start since 1987 when Bird, McHale and Parish were known as the big 3. These days KG, Paul Pierce and Ray Allen are the stars, and they’ve won straight-up and against the spread in their first five games of the season.
Listed as a 100-1 outside chance to win the NBA title during the offseason, Boston are now right up there as equal 2nd favorite to win it all after ther San Antonio Spurs, with odds of 4-1 at Bodog.
The Celtics next play the Indiana Pacers on the road, and Bodog has them as 7.5 point favorites to win their 6th straight. They've covered every game so far, could this be the game to bet against them?
The 2-3 Pacers have lost their last three, by an average of 10.3 points against the Clippers, Bobcats and Nuggets. The closest they got was 7 points against Denver at home... Their early wins were against two of the worst teams in the league - Miami and Memphis.
We're picking the guys in green to once again beat the spread and cover this one in Indy.
In the NFL, the Patriots have won their first nine games of the season. That's right - NINE GAMES!
The craziest of fans in New England are predicting an undefeated season, something only one team - the 1972 Miami Dolphins - has ever done.
Star quarterback Tom Brady has his team firing on all cylinders and they re big favorites to beat the Buffalo Bills on Sunday.
Bodog will be offering live in-game betting on this one, and currently have the Bills as +16 point underdogs.
It'll be a big ask for the Brady's boys from Boston to overcome that many points, but if anyone can do it, they can. Their average winning margin this year is 23 points and just two weeks ago they handed the Redskins a 52-7 good old fashioned ass whupping.
Peyton Manning and the Colts gave them a little trouble last game, but the Bills are nowhere near the level of the current SuperBowl Champs and should be an easier team to dominate.
So what the hell! We're picking the Patriots to beat their spread and get the win too. Lets's ride this wave of Boston success for all it's worth!
