Big Brown Triple Crown

June 5, 2008

After winning both the Kentucky Derby and the Preaknes stakes, Big Brown needs to conquer Belmont to become the first Triple Crown winner since 1978.

Online Horse Betting

The Belmont Stakes is the longest of the Triple Crown races and it will be the toughest of the three races for Big Brown to claim.

Saturday's 1 1/2 mile race will see the favorite starting from barrier 1, but that didn't seem to worry his trainer.

''I just can't see a post position getting him beat,'' trainer Rick Dutrow Jr. said. ''As long as we break good, I can see us getting a good trip. There is not a lot of speed in the race. If we need our horse early on, he'll be there for us.''

His main challenger, Japanese-bred Casino Drive, will start from gate No. 5 He is the 7-2 second choice and along with Big Brown they are the only horses with single-digit odds.

Big Brown is currently  a 2/5 chance (1.40 or -250) at the Bodog Racebook.

Two Preakness Stakes runners are also set to take on Big Brown again. Macho Again was second in the Preakness and Icabad Crane was third. In this race they are both currently paying 20-1 for a win.

Bodog Racebook is one again offering odds on the race without Big Brown. Casino Drive is rated a 2.10 chance to beat all the other horses with Macho Again paying 5.00.

There's also odds on whether Bill, Hillary or Chelsea Clinton will attend the race.

And there is a host of bets available regading how big Brown will win the race (wire to wire maybe?) Big Brown's future, TV Ratings and who will be interviewed first.

If you crave action - there's plenty to be had on this race at Bodog!
