Africa Cup of Nations - Finals

Eight teams will be cut to four over the next two days as the finalists for the Africa Cup of Nations are determined. BetUS has posted odds.
Angola, Ghana, Algeria, and the Ivory Coast have all progressed to the quarterfinals of the competition, and are able to rest easy for the next few days. The same can’t be said for the members of Group C and Group D, who will play their final matches on Wednesday and Thursday to decide the remaining four quarterfinalists.
Here are the odds that BetUS has placed on all four matches:
Egypt: -125
Draw: +235
Benin: +300
Nigeria: -275
Draw: +335
Mozambique: +625
Cameroon: -110
Draw: +230
Tunisia: +265
Gabon: +140
Draw: +215
Zambia: +170
Egypt vs. Benin: In a group where any country can still qualify, Egypt have secured their knockout round berth within the first two matches. Wins over Nigeria and Mozambique skyrocketed them to the top of Group C, and they will be able to play a second-string team on Wednesday without needing a single point to progress. Gedo has been a star for Egypt, scoring in both games, while Essam El-Hadary has only conceded a single goal all week.
Benin managed to nab a point from Mozambique in their opening match, but it could have been a very different story. Without a single goal from open play, their strikers will be under pressure to perform, and will face arguably the toughest defensive line at the African Cup of Nations. A win over Egypt won’t guarantee them progression, but it will at least give them some confidence for such a small national team.
Gabon vs. Zambia: Group D is so open that both teams sitting atop the leaderboard could be eliminated within a matter of days. No-one has secured a quarterfinals spot, and, as we have already seen in the competition, anything can happen. Gabon pulled off a remarkable victory against Samuel Eto’o’s Cameroon on match day one, but failed to capitalize on a myriad of opportunities against Tunisia. Hull City’s Daniel Cousin is the team’s only scorer, and they are only slight favorites to pick up all three points in this one.
For a team that has scored three goals in two games, Zambia don’t have much to show for it. Sitting at the bottom of the table, they need nothing less than a win to progress. Their five-goal thriller against Cameroon a few days ago proved just how well the Zambian unit can play when working together, however it will be a big ask for them to produce a similar display against Gabon this Thursday.
BetUS will be following the Africa Cup of Nations right through until the grand final, so keep yourself updated, and make sure you back your favorite national side.
