2014/2015 Brooklyn Nets Schedule

The Brooklyn Nets 2014/2015 schedule begins with a game against rivals Boston, however they have an easy end-of-season run. The Nets are a newly branded team so their fanbase isn't as strong as other teams. However ticket sales grow as the fanbase does. They already have widely popular merchandise for such a young team, so their potential is high.

Brooklyn Nets History

The Brooklyn Nets entered the NBA in 1976 as the New York Nets before moving to New Jersey the following season. The franchise has now moved to Brooklyn and will play their home games in the brand new Barclays Center. The Nets have experienced little success since moving to the NBA and have yet to win an NBA Championship. Their most successful period was in the early 2000s when they made it to the NBA Finals in back-to-back seasons but failed to convert this into a title. The Nets hadn't qualified for the playoffs in five seasons before changing their venue, but since then have qualified for the two that followed. In 2014 they even made it to the Conference Semifinals but were knocked out by Miami Heat. Williams was drafted to the Nets in 2010 and since that point the franchise has built the team around him.

Brooklyn Nets Star Player: Deron Williams

Deron Williams was selected with the 3rd overall pick in the 2005 NBA draft by the Utah Jazz. Williams had a successful personal stint at the Jazz but was unable to lead the team on a substantial playoff run. In recent seasons he has become one of the premier point guards in the NBA and was an NBA All-Star for three consecutive seasons (2010-12) as well as a gold medal winner at the 2008 and 2012 Summer Olympics. Williams was drafted to the Nets in 2010 and since that point the franchise has built the team around him. Williams is the man who can win games for the Nets and has repaid their faith in him by bringing the team back to the playoffs two years in a row.

Brooklyn Nets Star From the Past: Buck Williams

Buck Williams was selected by the New Jersey Nets with the 3rd pick in the 1981 NBA draft. Williams was known for his rebounding skills and currently sits inside the top twenty in NBA career rebounds. He had an immediate impact on the NBA, winning the rookie of the year award as well as being picked in the All Stars team in his inaugural season. Williams was never able to lead the Nets on a significant playoff run but he finished his career as the franchise's leading point scorer and rebounder.

Brooklyn Nets Head Coach: Vacant

The head coach positon at the Brooklyn Nets is currently vacant after Jason Kidd was traded to the Milwaukee Bucks for two second-round draft picks in 2015 and 2019.
