NFL Schedule - Team vs. Team - Week 9
Arizona Cardinals vs Green Bay Packers
The Arizona Cardinals will have to end a seven game losing streak at Lambeau Field against the Green Bay Packers in week 9. Lambeau Field is considered one of the most difficult places for visiting teams in the NFL to play because of the climate and the Cardinals, who are used to the desert temperatures of Arizona, have struggled to adjust. The last time these teams met was in the 2009 season playoffs and they combined for ninety-six points, an NFL playoffs record. It is extremely unlikely that as many points will be scored this season but the Packers are still a good bet to extend their winning streak at Lambeau field.
Baltimore Ravens vs Cleveland Browns
The Baltimore Ravens and Cleveland Browns meet for the second time this season. The Ravens have an excellent record against the Cleveland Browns having won the last nine meetings between the sides. In fact, both Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco and head coach John Harbaugh are undefeated against the Cleveland Browns. The matches between these sides are generally low scoring and dominated by the run. Both sides have strong running backs in Ray Rice and Trent Richardson who are likely to be responsible for most of their team's offense. The Ravens are a very safe gambling option to extend their winning streak against the Browns and are an excellent team to include in week 9 NFL accumulator bets at Online Sportsbooks.
Buffalo Bills vs Houston Texans
The Houston Texans will be aiming to beat the Buffalo Bills for the first time at Reliant Stadium. The Texans are currently considered the team to beat in the American Football Conference and have an extremely strong squad on both sides of the football. Their offense is filled with stars including Arian Foster and Andre Johnson while their defense has game-changing ability. The Buffalo Bills are desperate to end their post-season drought (the longest current drought in the NFL) and qualify for the playoffs for the first time this century. Quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick will be a key player for the Bills and he will need to avoid making mistakes if his side is going to be any chance to beat the Texans.
Carolina Panthers vs Washington Redskins
This game should be an extremely interesting battle between two very exciting young quarterbacks. Cam Newton set the bar high for future rookie quarterbacks with his amazing performances in his rookie season. The 2011 number 1 NFL draft pick threw for 4051 yards and scored a record-breaking fourteen rushing touchdowns. Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III also came into the NFL as the reigning Heisman Trophy winner and has done his best to replicate the rookie feats of Newton. While statistically RG3 hasn't matched the year of Newton he has turned the Redskins offense around and into a legitimate playoffs contender in the very competitive NFC East division. The personal battle between these two young guns will decide the game so the best gambling option is betting on the team available at longer odds at Online Sportsbooks.
Chicago Bears vs Tennessee Titans
History says that this will be a very close game as the last five games between these two sides have been decided by a touchdown or less. On paper the Chicago Bears have a much stronger squad than the Tennessee Titans but they have failed to fire at times in 2012. The Tennessee Titans have also been inconsistent this season, recording some big wins but also producing a number of ordinary performances. The inconsistency of both teams makes this a very difficult game to analyse. Therefore, the best gambling option for this game is to bet on the team that is available at the longer odds with Online Sportsbooks.
Dallas Cowboys vs Atlanta Falcons
The Dallas Cowboys have an excellent record against the Atlanta Falcons but they will need to be at their best to defeat the high-flying squad in 2012. The Falcons have been flawless this season and are one of the favorites, at Online Sportsbooks, to win the NFC Conference Championship. The Cowboys have been extremely inconsistent this season and need to start stringing together some wins if they want to qualify for the playoffs. Quarterback Tony Romo is having one of his weakest seasons and desperately needs to improve if the Cowboys are going to hang with Matt Ryan and the Falcons high powered offense. This should be a high scoring game so betting on the Over option in the Over/Under betting market is a good gambling play.
Denver Broncos vs Cincinnati Bengals
Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning has never lost to the Cincinnati Bengals and is expected to maintain that record in 2012. Manning has won all seven games he has played against the Bengals and the franchise has generally struggled against the Broncos. The Broncos have faced a tough schedule in 2012 and will see this as one of their easier games. It is a must-win if they want to win the AFC West divisional title. Despite the fantastic form of AJ Green; the Bengals appear to have gone backwards on their form from last season and at this stage look unlikely to return to the playoffs. The Denver Broncos should be able to win this game comfortably and are one of the best bets of the week.
Detroit Lions vs Jacksonvile Jaguars
The Detroit Lions have not beaten the Jacksonville Jaguars since their inaugural meeting in 1995. This is a game the Lions simply must win if they want to qualify for the playoffs in 2012. They have been inconsistent this season but may have turned the corner with an overtime win over the Philadelphia Eagles in week six. The Jacksonville Jaguars showed some promising signs at the start of the season but have failed to fire in recent weeks. Blaine Gabbert is simply not improving as a quarterback and the Jaguars may be looking towards another young quarterback in the 2013 NFL draft. The Lions should win this game easily and are an excellent gambling play in spread betting markets.
Kansas City Chiefs vs San Diego Chargers
The San Diego Chargers easily accounted for the Kansas City Chiefs earlier this season and are expected to do the same in week nine. The Chiefs turned the football over far too often in that game, which has been a problem for the side all season. The side has not improved with Brady Quinn as quarterback and their chances of making the playoffs are over. The Chargers have been consistent this season and are on track to claim the AFC West title. Philip Rivers has put his poor 2011 season behind him and is back to being a clear top ten quarterback in the NFL. The Chargers won't be available at good odds at Online Sportsbooks but are a good option to add to week 9 NFL accumulator bets.
Miami Dolphins vs Indianapoils Colts
This is a meeting between two rookie quarterbacks who have impressed in their first season in the NFL. Colts quarterback Andrew Luck was heavily hyped throughout his NCAA College Football career and has lived up to expectations. His drive to lead the Colts to a huge upset victory over the Green Bay Packers was exceptional and shows the maturity the young quarterback has. Dolphins quarterback Ryan Tannehill had a slow start to the season but has shown rapid improvement and has thrown almost as many yards as Luck. The battle between these two will likely decide this game so the best gambling play is betting on whichever team is the underdog at Online Sportsbooks.
Minnesota Vikings vs Seattle Seahawks
The Minnesota Vikings and Seattle Seahawks have performed above expectations in 2012. This is an extremely important game for both sides as the battle for NFC wild card berths really starts to heat up. The Seahawks have been giant killers this season; defeating both the Green Bay Packers and New England Patriots. Their defense has become one of the best units in the NFL and will really put the pressure on the Vikings sophomore quarterback Christian Ponder. Ponder has been excellent in 2012 but will have to be at his very best to lead his side to victory in this game. The Seahawks should be too strong for the Vikings and will be available at excellent odds at Online Sportsbooks.
Philadelphia Eagles vs New Orleans Saints
This is a very important game for both sides. The New Orleans Saints got off to a terrible start this season and will need to win this game if they are going to be any chance of qualifying for the playoffs. Drew Brees and the offense are just starting to click again but will have to be at their best against the strong Eagles defense. The Eagles have been painfully inconsistent in 2012 and have lost a number of close games. They must start stringing wins together if they want to save the job of head coach Andy Reid who will likely be fired if the franchise doesn't qualify for the playoffs this season. This is a very tough game to handicap as both teams have cost gamblers dearly.
Pittsburgh Steelers vs New York Giants
This will be just the tenth meeting between these sides since 1969. They were once divisional rivals and the Giants dominated the rivalry during that period. However, the recent meetings between these sides have been very close and this game should be no exception. Both teams rely heavily on their quarterback and the personal battle between Ben Roethlisberger and Eli Manning could determine this game. Big Ben and Eli debuted in the NFL in 2004 and have both won two Super Bowls. They have only played twice and have won a game apiece. The Giants are generally at their best in big games like this one and are starting gel as a team nicely. They should be able to beat the Steelers and will be available at good odds.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs Oakland Raiders
This game is a rematch of Super Bowl XXXVII that was won 48-21 by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Neither side has reached those heights since nor is it likely they will in 2012. This is a tough game to handicap as both sides have generally been poor in 2012. However, the Buccaneers have shown signs of improvement while the Raiders have been stagnant apart from their upset victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers. Because of this and their superior coaching the Buccaneers should be able to win this game. However, it is unlikely they will be good value at Online Sportsbooks so it is probably best to ignore this game from a gambling perspective.
