GameAccount is preparing to host the online portion of the European Series of Backgammon in 2010.
The ESOB is a non-profit organization that is backed by several online gambling websites. Its aim is to spread awareness of backgammon’s incredible growth and it will hold many live and online events throughout the year.
The first tournament at GameAccount will be the €15,000 ESOB Online Championship to be held on March 28th. It will have a buy-in of €220 and be played in 7-point backgammon matches, with an 11-point final match. The €15,000 prize pool means that first place should take away €5,000 or more in prize money.
Many satellite tournaments are running in the lead up to this major event. You can enter the 3-point satellite on Monday to Saturday for just €2.20 to win a place into one of the more expensive satellites, or you can play for a seat directly into the ESOB Online Championship on Saturdays for €8.80, or on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday for €22. Both of the direct satellites have 5-point matches with 7-point finals – good preparation for the main event.
To play in these exciting backgammon tournaments, you will need to join GameAccount as a real money player. It’s a great site for playing skill games online, as new players can claim a first deposit bonus of up to £100 and there are many games to choose from in addition to backgammon.
