Carbon Poker Winter Games

February 4, 2010

Carbon Poker is celebrating the Winter Olympics in February with the 2010 Winter Games Poker Championships.

Carbon Poker Winter Games

There are two paths to victory in the Carbon Poker Winter Games, one offering $12,500 in prize money and WSOP seats, and the other with $15,000 to give away. There are different requirements for each leaderboard, and you can win as much as $2,000 or 2 WSOP seats for topping either one of the Winter Games events.

First off, the $12,500 Alpine Poker Championship offers special tournaments everyday that award tickets to the Alpine Grand Final “Tournament of Champions” for the top 5 finishing players. As an incentive to keep playing right up until the Grand Final, your starting chip stack will be increased with ever entry you win! Your Grand Final chip stack will be set based on the stakes you play at and the place you finished at in the qualifying tournament. Winning high stakes Alpine Poker Championship qualifying tournaments could put you in prime position to take the Grand Final, as you’ll begin the tourney with a dominant lead. First place prize for the Grand Final is 2 seats to WSOP events, which is a really good deal considering you can win your way into this final event for as little as $2 and a 5th place finish.

The $15,000 Nordic Combined Poker Championship is simply a leaderboard race, with prizes paid out to the top 100 players at the end of February. Earning leaderboard points is simple – you just need to earn VIP points in real money ring games, SnGs or multi-table tournaments. The top 100 players on the leaderboard at the end of February will receive a cash prize, and the top 10 will also earn Olympic Accolades to show off at the Carbon Poker tables. 1st place gets Gold, 2nd to 5th places get Silver, and 6th to 10th places get Bronze Olympic Accolades. Of course, most players will be aiming for 1st place to get the $2,000 prize rather than the bragging rights!

If you would like to play in the Winter Games at Carbon Poker, then you will need to become a real money player. New players can claim a bonus of up to $600, which you can earn over your early days of play at Carbon Poker.
