APPT Macau final table set

November 24, 2007

The first ever major poker tournament in The People's Republic of China is down to the final table.

PokerStars' Asia Pacific Poker Tour Macau stop has proven to be a success, with 352 players taking part in the $2,500 buy-in main event.

With $222,640  up for grabs for first place, and only 9 players remaining, the heat is on at the Grand Waldo Hotel & Casino.

Team PokerStars is well represented at the final table, with 2005 world champ, Joe Hachem and Bertrand 'Elky' Grospellier still in the chase.

The final table chip counts and seat numbers are:

1: Simon Randall, UK - 125,000
2: Liz Lieu, USA - 384,000
3: William Tam, AUS  - 201,000
4: Bertrand 'Elky' Grospellier, KOR - 467,000
5: Joe Hachem, AUS - 325,000
6: Dinh Le, UK - 657,000
7: Guillaume Patry, KOR - 552,000
8: Sangkyoun Kim, KOR - 261,000
9: Ivan Tan, SG - 553,000

It's good to see that six out of the nine final table players are actually from the Asia Pacific region, with three Koreans, two Australians and a Singaporean still alive.

And Liz Lieu adds a touch of Asian-American glamour to the proceedings, a promoter's wish come true. Liz is one of the most photographed and admired female poker players on the circuit with a poker game to match her exotic good looks.

Final table play starts at 2:00pm Macau time. We don't know who to barrack for - the nice guy of poker, Aussie Joe Hachem, or Liz Lieu!

You can win your way to the Grand Final APPT event in one of the world's most beautiful cities, Sydney Australia. There's qualifiers running every day at PokerStars.
