NFL 2012 Week 2- Best Bets

on September 13, 2012 by Thomas Hackett

The 2012 NFL Schedule kicked off with a bang last weekend. NFL gamblers who backed underdogs would have had a very successful week as Online Sportsbooks were offering some big odds on a number of winning teams. There is potential for ever more upsets in Week 2 and once again Online Sportsbooks such as Bovada are offering some very generous odds. The team at Online Gambling has analyzed the relevant information and statistics and come up with the best bets for this weekend’s NFL action.

Chicago Bear to beat the spread (+6) against the Green Bay Packers (-115 at Bovada)

Week 2’s Thursday Night Football game will be the Green Bay Packers vs Chicago Bears. The Chicago Bears were one of the most impressive teams in Week 1 of the NFL season. Their new-look offense was absolutely tremendous, with the combination of Brandon Marshall and Jay Cutler looking particularly strong. The Bears have a strong passing and rushing game that combined with their always powerful defense makes them one of the best overall squads in the NFL. A small gamble on the Chicago Bears to be Super Bowl champions would not be a bad bet at this point as they are currently available at excellent odds.

The Green Bay Packers were disappointing in their week 1 fixture. Aaron Rodgers was surprisingly outplayed by San Francisco 49ers quarterback Alex Smith and the defense that struggled last season doesn’t appear to have improved in 2012. The Packers have no running game to speak off and will once again rely on Aaron Rodgers to make the big plays on offense.

This will be an incredibly exciting game and one in which it appears Online Sportsbooks aren’t giving enough credit to the Chicago Bears. The Bears defense has troubled the Packers in recent seasons and they now have enough weapons to put up a big enough score to compete with Rodgers and company. This will be a tight game so with a six point start the Bears should be able to easily beat the spread. Gamble on the Chicago Bears at Bovada.

Kansas City Chiefs to beat the spread (+3) against the Buffalo Bills (+100 at Bovada)

Ralph Wilson Stadium will play host to the Buffalo Bills vs Kansas City Chiefs game this Sunday. The Buffalo Bills were the most disappointing side of week 1. The franchise went into the season confident that they would finally end their post-season drought but based on their performance against the New York Jets makes that look like a pipe dream. The Bills have lost two of their biggest offensive weapons to injury (Fred Jackson and David Nelson) and quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick was poor against the Jets. Their defense, that was considered an elite unit before the season, was picked apart by Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez. Any bets placed on the Bills to make the playoffs don’t look very safe now!

The Kanas City Chiefs were also disappointing in week 1 but they did run into an Atlanta Falcons side that really took advantage of its offensive weapons. The positive for the Chiefs was their running game with Jamaal Charles having a successful return from injury. The Chiefs defense and offensive line will have to improve if they want to be playoff contenders in 2012.

The Chiefs should be too strong for the Bills in this game and are currently at excellent odds to beat the spread. They will look to rely on their running game and are likely to dominate possession. This will put the pressure on Bills quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick who has shown in the past that he isn’t particularly strong under pressure and is prone to throwing interceptions. Online Sportsbooks are giving the Chiefs a three point start so we suggest that you gamble on the Kansas City Chiefs at Bovada.

Baltimore Ravens to beat the spread (+3) against the Philadelphia Eagles (-115 at Bovada)

Lincoln Financial Field will play host to the Baltimore Ravens vs Philadelphia Eagles. The Ravens looked extremely impressive in their week 1 match. Their defense was as strong as ever and quarterback Joe Flacco played one of the best games of his career. The Ravens new-look offense, led by Flacco and Ray Rice, looked like Super Bowl contenders against the Bengals and they will be looking to take that form into Week 2. The Ravens are currently available at excellent odds to win the AFC Conference Championship so that may be well worth a bet.

The Philadelphia Eagles vs Cleveland Brown game was very ugly. Both quarterbacks threw four interceptions and Eagles quarterback Michael Vick made some incredibly poor decisions. The Ravens defense is a lot stronger than the Browns and if Vick plays poorly again this game will be a blow-out. The Eagles defense wasn’t really tested against the Browns so it will be interesting to see how they go against the Ravens.

Online Sportsbooks really look like they have got the odds wrong in this one. The Ravens should win this game easily let alone with a three point start. We strongly encourage you to gamble on the Ravens this weekend.

Teams for Accumulator Bets
Dallas Cowboys vs Seattle Seahawks- The Cowboys should easily account for the Seahawks.
New England Patriots vs Arizona Cardinals- The Patriots will be far too strong for the Cardinals.
Houston Texans vs Jacksonville Jaguars- The Texans are superior of both sides of the football.
Combine these three teams for an accumulator bet worth +125 at Bovada.
