Peyton Manning on a RollWith a full month of NFL games behind us, there have been plenty of memorable moments.  Here are my picks for the best and worst of Week 4,

Lets start with the best:

Saints v Jets
This was a great game between two teams that continue to impress me.  They were both undefeated going in, and though the Jets are now 1-3, they certainly put up a valiant effort against the dominating Saints.  They started the game off by going up 4-0 and for just one second, it looked as if they might just pull off the upset.  Unfortunately, Mark Sanchez looked … well … like a rookie.  He had a hard time against the powerful Saints’ defense, throwing three interceptions.  Overall, it was a great game.  The Jets are heading into another tough matchup, as they will be facing off against Miami for Week 5’s Monday Night Football.  BetUS is offering the following odds:

Pointspread
Jets: -1 ½ -110
Dolphins: +1 ½ -110

Peyton Manning and the Colts

The Colts handed the struggling Seahawks another loss and looked pretty impressive in the process.  They may have lost their head coach Tony Dungy but they looked as collected as ever, making this their 13th straight regular season win.  Manning was particularly impressive throwing 31 of 41 for 353 yards.  That marks his fourth straight game throwing 300+ yards.  They’ll be traveling to Tennessee to go up against the Titans.  Is another win in the books?  I think so.  BetUS is offering the following odds:

Pointspread
Colts: -3 ½ -110
Titans: +3 ½ -110
Moneyline
Colts: -190
Titans: +160

Vikings v Packers
It was the game that everyone was anticipating, and it certainly didn’t let down.  Well … unless you’re a Packers fan.  Brett Favre and his new Vikings handed the Packers a 30-23 victory.  Favre certainly had something to prove and I think he made his point.  The guy, despite staring down an upcoming 40th birthday, still has something left in that arm.  He threw 24 of 31 for 271 yards, including three touchdown passes and zero turnovers.  Though credit must be given where credit is deserved; the rest of the team performed fabulously particularly the improved defense.  They relentlessly pounded Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers, sacking him eight times.  The mighty Vikes will now head to St Louis to take on the Rams.  I think it will be another win for the undefeated Vikings.  BetUS is offering the following odds:

Pointspread

Vikings: -9 ½ -110
Rams: +9 ½ -110
Moneyline
Vikings: -550
Rams: +425

And now for the worst:

Tennessee Titans
It was just one year ago that this team was at the top of the rankings.  Major Super Bowl contenders.  Stomping Terrible Towels!  This season is a completely different story as the Jacksonville Jaguars smashed the Titans 34-17, handing them their fourth loss of the season.  The team is in serious need of …  anything that will get them a win.  Though, things aren’t going to get any easier for them in Week 5 as they host the Colts.  I’m predicting they’ll go 0-5.

Chargers Defense
The Steelers handed the Chargers a pretty big loss last Sunday, beating them on Heinz Field 38-28.  I think this loss can be summed up in four words: where was the defense?  They allowed 497 total yards, which by most accounts would suggest a manhandling by the dominant Steelers.  Coach Norv Turner isn’t focusing on the loss, however, and will likely spend the team’s week off to work on a few glaring defensive problems.  The Steelers will be looking to gain another win as they head to Detroit to face the Lions in Week 5.  BetUS is offering the following odds:

Pointspread
Steelers: -10 ½ -110
Lions: +10 ½ -110
Moneyline
Steelers: -550
Lions: +425

All in all, it was another great week in the NFL.  There’s surely more to come as the teams gear up for Week 5.  Check out BetUS for all of the abovementioned odds and plenty more.  Be sure to take a punt on the upcoming games before Week 5 gets underway on Sunday, October 11.
