Sea Shells….

The Seychelles rely on tourism to enhance their island economy. Direct income from tourists stands at around 21%, however and a huge 60% in its foreign exchange service.
Of the 160,000 annual tourists only a very small percentage get attacked and or captured by pirates.
In the past few weeks there has been a fair bit of maritime skullduggery going on around the Somali coast west of the Seychelles.
The pirates appear a little less violent in these waters compared to those in the South China Sea and the Straits of Malacca, where captured crews are often disposed of. Mainly because the crews are captured off the Somali coast for ransom, not their ship and possessions, as in the Orient.
Some of the International hotels are here in the Seychelles, and some casinos too for those who can only peak when their adrenalin count is high.
The Berjaya Beau Vallon Bay
Beach Resort Casino is only a short ride from the international airport on Mahé island.
Often billed as theSeychelles’ best casino, this Berjaya resort is one of many belonging to the Berjaya group, with a couple in the Seychelles and some in Malaysia and Singapore.
The casino here has plenty of slots games for the lazy punters, with tables of blackjack, roulette …..and poker for those who can keep a deadpan expression whilst enjoying such beaut surroundings.
On the Seyshelles’ Praslin island there is but one casino, the Casino des Iles, but enough I think for this island offers so much more if you like the water. There are slots and poker games at the Casino des Iles. There are 115 islands of the Seychelles group, so heaps of variety in the water. You may even get to visit a real live pirate crew.
On a downside, because more warships are patrolling the coast off Somalia, their presence is forcing the pirates nearer the Seychelles where they have the 115 islands and their coves to hide in. Safer online eh.
